My granny...

Yesterday my mom gave me an amount of money that she inherited from my gran. When I saw it I immediately started crying and since then I have been thinking of my gran so much. Today is exactly six months since she died. We were very close but unfortunately we had to move away. So I were not there to say goodbye. The same happened when my grandpa died, I were not allowed into the ICU cause I was not old enough (though I thought 12 is quite old enough). It just broke my heart cause the last time I saw her was in June last year.

She once told me she wanted to see me get married, she wanted to turn 90 and then pass away in her sleep. Well, strangely, that is exactly how it happened. I got married in January, she turned 90 in April and passed on peacefully in her sleep in August. The old age home where she lived had security cameras installed in their rooms to see if something happened and it showed that she got up at 3 to go to the bathroom, then went back to bed and remained in the same sleeping position till they found her the next morning. It is quite a blessing that she was so healthy and did not suffer in her final year.. I would have liked to have her around for when my kids came but am glad that I had her for so long..

I am planning on spending the money on something I would be able to keep and then pass on to my children, just don't know what yet.

Creativity coming forth...

For some unknown reason I am suddenly enjoying being creative. I have never thought of myself as a creative person until I think yesterday.. :) For one, I have started to photograph everything I see! I only got my camera last year and I am new to the whole photography thing but I can't seem to stop taking pics! I took these in my garden this week:

I have very limited space in my home, because we are renting I can't hang things on walls or add any shelfs. It frustrates me a bit cause we seem to have more things than we have space for. Still trying to figure out how to arrange everything to get rid of the "cluttered" look. What I wouldn't give for a big house...one day... *sigh*

Umdloti and Umhlanga...

Well, I am back from a wonderful, relaxing 5 days in Umdloti with my parents. This is the first time in 7 years that it was just the 3 of us. They arrived on Sunday the 15th of Feb, with my father in law in tow, though he stayed behind in Pmb. We went to Umdloti on the Monday and stayed there until the Friday. It was so nice to see the sea again and to go into the water and just stand there and get wet. :) We stayed on the 4th floor of the Dolphin View Cabanas, in a nice 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom place. Which means I had my own bathroom and bedroom for a change! There was a lot of monkeys running around; one almost attacked my mom as she tried to wave him away on the balcony and one other climbed in through the bathroom window and stared at me from around the corner! We went to the Symbali Casino the one day, my dad gave me some money to play with and I had a great time playing until everything was gone.. *sigh*. We also went to Umhlanga one afternoon to see the damage caused by some of the flooding that occured there. We could not walk on the paths along the shore but we did go out on the boardwalk. The week was so relaxing..

Other news is that I decided to write a fantasy novel. Hehe.. I have had an idea in my head since I can remember and I think that now is the time to get it on paper. Will have to see how that goes..

Just an update...

Well, the work with the old lady at the museum did not really work out well, or rather, at all.. lol. But its better this way, I am just too impatient. Nothing much has happened further. One of our friends came to visit last weekend, the first of our friends to actually come visit! It was nice to have a familiar face around here. I finally got all the books of the Twilight series! And three other books.. all bought in one week..and now my money is gone again..*sigh*.

I also managed to get into another stupid accident two days ago, all thanx to my wonderful clumsiness. I fell over the vacuum cleaner and hit my head on the steel pipe. It is still hurting, hopefully nothing serious. So far I managed to wake up everytime I fell asleep, so I don't think I'll die..hehe.

My parents and my father-in-law are coming this weekend, and then I am going with my parents for a 5 day holiday at the seaside, leaving my poor husband to fend for himself.. lol. Can't wait for it, pics will be posted soon. Well, this is all for now, I really lead a very boring life..
